Abstract The present paper studies ‘labor’ as human activity in the world of the social being, disconnected from its wealth priority or a simple consequence of the capitalist mode of production. The labor category, at the level of abstraction proposed by Lukács, has ontological priority, since it has more ability to articulate with a greater number of other social determinations. Marx`s own dialectic method reinforces the ontological sense of Lukács labor category by being analyzed as a reflex of the reality of sociability and notion of time.
