摘要:Studies with embryonic stem cells represent an evolution to health by providing opportunities for curing various diseases.However, there are controversies and bioethics concerns regarding the use of this method.The aim of this study is to understand the scientific, political, ideological, religious and historical debate involving embryonic stem cells.This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study developed through a literature review, considering the last ten years of research in this area.Authors found that studies with embryonic stem cells promote the development in human are relevant to nurses as it facilitates the understanding about various diseases.Authors also found that the impact caused by embryonic stem cells is important, especially with regard to the possible cure of diseases, influencing nursing professionals´ need to improve their knowledge in this area in order to contribute to the care given to people through this therapy.
