摘要:Identification is the set of various procedures for identifying an object or person. The observation of the standard frontal sinus is one technique used to establish the identity of a person. The variations in size, shape , symmetry, outer edges , presence and number of septa and cells are unique to each individual , being compared by radiographs face before and after death for the purpose of equalization and a correct identification of the individual. However, there are few studies on the use of computed tomography for this purpose as well as an adequate standardization of its characteristics for possible filing and subsequent withdrawal.A retrospective study metric and volumetric measurements were performed on CT scans in the three anatomical planes was performed. These measures were correlated with gender and age in order to establish the influence of age and gender in the frontal sinus.Tests previously performed, 49.8 % females and 50.2 % males, aged 7-66 years old were used.Aplasia were found in 21.18 %, with higher incidence in females .Regarding age has not been established influence on measurements taken.
