摘要：This article focuses on the practice based on human rights during the treatment to addicted individuals.The study resulted in a non systematic review of the literature founded on a scoping literature review.Initially, authors present the context of substance abuse, emphasizing general aspects, according to medical references that characterize substance abuse (DSMV and ICD-10).Following, relevant aspects of criminalization, violence, stigma and violation to the human dignity right in the context of substance abuse.Results showed the lack of effective treatment and the violation to the right to health facing the problem of substance abuse, considering a public health problem in the world.This review points out the control of use, treatment of persons who abuse drugs and the stigma associated to discrimination violating human rights in different places in the world.Facing this reality, we suggest the establishment of laws to reduce the violation of human rights, especially during treatment.
