摘要:This study verified whether national scientific journals classified in the Biological Sciences I, II and III areas of CAPES (Webqualis) do or do not mention ethics in animal experimentation, requiring, in the act of sending manuscripts, the follow-up of ethical standards, as well as existence of a possible standardization of these requirements. The eligible sample consisted of all those journals classified as A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 and C (Webqualis).Inclusion criteria were the periodicals originating in Brazil.the instructions / guidelines to the authors, the magazines that included this question were identified.A total of 836 journals were analyzed, of which only 13 were disregarded because they did not have available information about the subject.Of the 823 analyzed, 397 (48.23%) were in agreement with the adoption of ethical standards and 426 (51.76%) did not mention this information. These findings suggest that publishers of national journals need to update the instructions to authors and include ethical aspects in animal experimentation and studies involving humans.
