摘要:Tim Burton’s film Sleepy Hollow is rich in stylistic effects, which are partly due to the quotations from Hammer films such as James Whale’s Frankenstein. However this film also displays more innovative effects which belong to Tim Burton’s own style, and his special reference to the silver screen as a page, and to a calligraphic aesthetics which forces us spectators into the depths of our private imagination, in a manner reminiscent of the silent movies, inviting us to rediscover the so-called naive reception of the first moviegoers.
