摘要：O presente artigo discorre sobre a temática do cárcere feminino tendo como objetivo compreender a dinâmica do encarceramento da mulher na região metropolitana de Belém. Para tanto, foi feita uma revisão bibliográfica considerando a discussão sobre encarceramento feminino e um levantamento de dados quantitativos, do tipo secundário, obtidos por meio da consulta ao Relatório do Programa “Consolidar Redes Re-Significar Vidas: estratégia de cuidados e garantia de direitos”, um dos pilares da Rede de Assistência, Cuidado e Tratamento do Programa “A Hora é Agora” realizado no âmbito do Centro de Reeducação Feminino no Estado do Pará. No cárcere estão mulheres jovens, solteiras, com baixa escolaridade, associadas ao tráfico de drogas e reincidentes. Os resultados apontam à intrínseca relação entre pobreza, desemprego e tráfico de drogas. A pesquisa conclui que a inserção na sociedade das mulheres sem escolarização ocorre via vinculação ao tráfico com a finalidade de garantir a subsistência da sua família.
其他摘要：This article discusses the issue of female prison in order to understand the dynamics of the incarceration of women in the metropolitan region of Belém. For this purpose, a search was made in the pertinent literature considering the categorical discussion about female incarceration and a survey of quantitative data, such as secondary, obtained by consulting the Report of the Program “Re-Signifying Lives: care strategy and guarantee of rights”, one of the pillars of the Assistance, Care and Treatment of the “A Hora é Agora” Program carried out within the scope from the Center for Female Re-education in the State of Pará. In the prison are young, single women, with low education, associated with drug trafficking and repeat offenders. The conclusion reached establishes an intrinsic relationship between poverty, unemployment and drug trafficking. The insertion of women with no schooling into society occurs via links to trafficking in the large peripheries in order to guarantee their family's subsistence.
