摘要：As infecções relacionadas à assistência à saúde impactam negativamente ao bem estar dos pacientes, e refletem em elevados índices de morbimortalidade, além de propiciar o aumento de gastos econômicos para a instituição hospitalar, tanto em recursos materiais, quanto em profissionais. Objetivou-se neste estudo analisar o conhecimento da equipe de enfermagem sobre infecções relacionadas à assistência à saúde e sua atuação na prevenção e controle deste agravo. A pesquisa foi descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, relacionada à atuação da assistência de enfermagem aos pacientes hospitalizados. O cenário da pesquisa abrangeu todos os setores de assistências a pacientes de um hospital do Noroeste Paulista e os sujeitos avaliados foram os enfermeiros, auxiliares e técnicos em enfermagem, que responderam de forma voluntária a um questionário semiestruturado e autoaplicável. Os dados obtidos foram agrupados pela semelhança e analisados estatisticamente. Verificou-se que a maioria dos profissionais de enfermagem possuíam conhecimento sobre a transmissão, prevenção e tratamento das infecções relacionadas à assistência à saúde. No entanto, é de fundamental importância destacar que, embora os colaboradores possuam domínio sobre a problemática em questão, as instituições de saúde devem oferecer condições para que os profissionais de enfermagem possam desenvolver as suas atividades conforme as necessidades do paciente internado, evitando assim a transmissão e disseminação de doenças.
其他摘要：Infections related to health care have a negative impact on the well-being of patients, and reflect on high morbidity and mortality rates, as well as increasing economic expenditures for the hospital institution, both in material resources and in professionals. The objective of this study was to analyze the knowledge of the nursing team about infections related to health care and its role in the prevention and control of this disease. The research was descriptive with a qualitative approach, related to the performance of nursing care to hospitalized patients. The research scenario covered all the patient assistance sectors of a hospital in Northwest of São Paulo city, and the subjects evaluated were nurses, auxiliaries and nursing technicians, who voluntarily responded to a semi-structured and self-administered questionnaire. The obtained data were grouped by similarity and analyzed statistically. It was verified that the majority of nursing professionals had knowledge about the transmission, prevention and treatment of infections related to health care. However, it is of fundamental importance to highlight that, although the employees have mastery over the problematic in question, the health institutions must offer conditions so that the nursing professionals can develop their activities according to the needs of the hospitalized patient, thus avoiding the transmission and spread of disease.
