摘要:The objective of this study is to determine the effect of employee engagement and job satisfaction
towards employee commitment in banking companies in Padang. The population in this study all employees who
work in conventional banking companies in Padang. The sampling technique is a cluster proportional random
sampling technique, so that we get 306 samples. Data were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling
(SEM) technique, with alternative method of PLS. The test shows that that result of the research supports the
hypothesis, in which employee engagement has a direct and significant effect towards organizational
commitment. The job satisfaction is also found to have a direct and significant effect towards organizational
commitment. Lastly, the job satisfaction functions as a partial mediator on correlation between employee
engagement with organizational commitment. For further research, the researcher suggests that getting a
greater amount of influence between variables, can be tested on different objects and also adding other variables
that can affect organizational commitment, such as; personal factors.
