摘要：The part of archival heritage of V.A. Gorodtsov concerning materials on his activities in the archaeological branch of RSFSR People’s Commissariat for Education and the archaeological committee of scientific museum and library section of the State Academic Council is considered in the article. These documents show that scientist attempted to reform the museum and scientific work in new Russia. The published report “Hidden energy of archaeological sites.” is one of these documents. It reflects the spirit of the twenties with its innovative ideas of reforming the culture, education and science. There are visible practical steps made by V.A. Gorodtsov and his colleagues at State Academic Council to attract the government and society to the problem of the significance of archaeology in cultural and scientific life of the country. It reflects, in addition, a littleknown original philosophical approaches of one of the founders of the national archaeology.
