摘要:Puerto Rican history is a story of identity enforcement through cultural clashes and ambivalence from the arrival of the Spaniards to the island. In The House of the lagoon, Ferré analyzes the past and present of Puerto Rico. Created was a reconstruction symbolized in the history of families Mendizábal-Monfort, in which Elizabeth Monfort, try to discover the causes of the failure of their marriage. In this search and personal reflection, forgotten versions of Puerto Rican history and equally represented, and life gives voice to marginalized or silenced women.
