摘要：This article focuses on the actions of the international community during the 2008 global economic and financial crisis when the Icelandic authorities sought international assistance to protect the Icelandic economy and its financial sector. The object is to answer the question if the international community took appropriate actions when the Icelandic banks expanded overseas as well as after their collapse? The article argues that the UK and the Netherlands showed dishonesty when demanding a sovereign guarantee for liabilities of failed private banks.
