摘要：Agriculture needs steady financing and credit support due to the specificity of the production cycle; slow capital turnover; low production profitability and lack of own financing. Financing is the most important and most complex of all problems which impede domestic agriculture. The aim of this paper is to present the previous; the current; as well as to propose the potential models of financing agriculture; multifunctional agriculture and rural development in the Republic of Serbia. Taking into consideration the productive resources; importance of agriculture for the national economy and overall employability; the author believes that financing agriculture in the Republic of Serbia; at the current level of its (under)development; has to be realized with the support of the state. To this end; she proposes the foundation of the Specialized Agricultural Bank. The potential ways of financing; besides the EU Instrument for Precession Assistance; are securities and financial derivatives. These financial instruments would enable better credit conditions; more balanced risk-sharing in agricultural production; stability and possibility to forecast prices of agricultural and food products; as well as the development of market conditions in domestic agriculture. Research methods used in this paper are analytical-empirical and comparative.
