摘要：The number of informally employed has been increasing under the influence of globalization; capital mobility; restructuring and labor market deregulation. Informal economy is present in all societies and at all social levels. The implications of youth work in the informal sector are multiple. Namely; human and financial resources are wasted and productivity decreases. The young do not have social protection; security; or labor rights protection. The paper focuses on the representation of young people in the informal economy in Serbia; examining trends and factors that influence their formation. Work engagement of young people in the informal economy can negatively affect their future perception of the society in which they live; earn a living and educate themselves.
