  • 摘要:Mathematics has an important role in the world of education because it is very supportive of knowledge in other fields, such as physics, chemistry, biology and science e. Mathematics learning is abstract, so mathematics learning should be carried out in a fun and interesting manner and easily understood by students. Based on previous research, determining the KPK and FPB of an integer is one of the materials that is difficult for students in primary schools, especially if the numbers are large enough. During this time the teacher uses a factor tree or prime factorization. It has never been applied using visual aids, so this article discusses the alternative methods of determining the KPK and FPB of an integer using visual aids, which are in the form of KPK and FPB boxes. This type of research was a literature study, using secondary data in the form of journals and relevant books. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by conducting a study on the example of solving problems about alternative methods using teaching aids, assessing their strengths and weaknesses and comparing them with the usual method (prime factorization). The results showed that determining the KPK and FPB integers using visual aids was simpler in calculation, more attractive in terms of appearance, the processing time was faster than the prime factorization method. Lack of use of this teaching aid method that is not applying the concept of prime numbers. It is recommended that teachers can apply this alternative method in the classroom, especially for students who do not understand the concept of prime numbers.
