摘要：OBJETIVO: Descrever casos de tentativa de suicídio por intoxicação medicamentosa entre adolescentes, registrados por um Centro de Assistência Toxicológica (Ceatox).MÉTODOS: Foi realizado uma pesquisa quantitativa, de caráter descritivoexploratório, realizada no Ceatox da cidade de Fortaleza, Ceará, Brasil, a partir das fichas de atendimentos a adolescentes (10 - 19 anos) entre 2010 - 2014.Os dados foram analisados utilizando frequências absoluta e relativa e Teste qui-quadrado (p<0,05).RESULTADOS: Foram registrados 237 casos (25,6%), sendo 74,7% em adolescentes de 15 a 19 anos, havendo maior associação com o sexo feminino (p=0,033), onde a maioria era estudante (61,2%).Predominou o envenenamento leve (43,0%) e alta hospitalar (72,6%).Os medicamentos mais utilizados foram ansiolíticos (35,4%) e analgésicos (25,3%).CONCLUSÃO: O estudo evidencia um alto índice de tentativas de suicídio por intoxicação medicamentosa envolvendo adolescentes no estado do Ceará, estando acima da média nacional.Aponta-se para a necessidade de medidas restritivas de acesso, do uso racional de medicamentos, capacitação dos prescritores e de repensar as lacunas existentes nos serviços de saúde para o cuidado à essa população.
其他摘要：OBJECTIVE: Describe cases of attempted suicide by drug intoxication among adolescents, recorded by a Toxicological Assistance Center (Ceatox). METHODS: A descriptive-exploratory quantitative study was carried out at Ceatox in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, from adolescents medical care records (10-19 years) between 2010 and 2014. Data were analyzed using absolute frequencies and relative and chi-square test (p <0.05). RESULTS: 237 cases (25.6%) were recorded, where 74.7% were adolescents with 15 to 19 years, were the majority were students (61.2%), with a major association with the female sex (p = 0.033). Predominanted mild poisoning (43.0%) and hospital discharge (72.6%). The most used drugs were anxiolytics (35.4%) and analgesics (25.3%). CONCLUSION: The study evidences a high index of suicide attempts by drug intoxication involving adolescents in the state of Ceará, being above the national average. It points to the need for restrictive access measures, the rational use of medicines, the training of prescribers and rethinking of the existing gaps in health services for the care of this population.
