摘要:Device-to-device communication is popular research trend that presents ubiquitous information exchange on the Internet of Things. D2D communication provides data exchange without transiting to a base station using direct communication between two devices. For such environment, successful delivery of data to the receiver is needed. In this paper, we suggest a Bee-Inspired Routing Algorithm (BIRA) for D2D communication in IoT exploits the multiple interfaces of a “thing” in IoT having different wireless standards. BIRA is on demand routing algorithm simulates the bee’s foraging behavior model to find optimal path between source and destination for multi-hop communication. The performance of BIRA is assessed through extensive simulations that concludes BIRA realizes better packet delivery ratio as well as it performs lower average end-to-end delay in different traffic load compared to the conventional AODV protocol. Also, BIRA achieves least energy consumption than AODV and increases network lifetime.
