摘要：Coğrafya gezi ve gözleme dayalı bir bilim dalıdır. Ancak öğrencilerin her yeri gezme ve görme imkanı olmadığından, bu açık fotoğraflar sayesinde kapatılabilir. Bu anlamda coğrafya öğretmeninin çok iyi bir fotoğraf arşivi olmalıdır. Yapılan araştırmalara göre bir insan dinlediğinin % 10 unu, gördüğünün % 20 ’sini zihninde tutabilmektedir. Görmek ve dinlemek bir arada olduğunda ise bu oran % 30'a yükselmektedir. Bir öğrenci anlatılanları zihninde canlandırabilir ama gördüğünü zihnine tam olarak yerleştirir. Denizi hiç görmeyen bir çocuğun, bir gölet ve ya baraj olarak zihninde canlandırabileceğini oysa bir deniz resmi görürse daha iyi kavrayabileceğini söyleyebiliriz. Öğrenmeyi somutlaştırmak açısından bakıldığında da fotoğraflar, öğrenmeyi soyuttan somut hale getirmede ihmal edilmeyecek materyallerdir. Bu araştırmada deney ve kontrol grupları oluşturulmuş, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını tespit için ön test-son test uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre coğrafya öğretimi dersinde fotoğraf ve resimlerin kullanılmasının öğrencilerin akademik başarısını olumlu yönde etkilediği anlaşılmaktadır.
其他摘要：Geography is a scientific discipline based on excursions and observations. However, there are little opportunities for students to go to visit and to make observation in every geographical place. Therefore these handicaps could be overcome by using photographs. With this in mind, geography teachers should have a good quality of photograph archive. Research conducted in learning shows that learner remember 10 percent of what she/he listens, 20 percent of what she/he sees and 30 percent of what she listens and sees together. Learners might be able to imagine what they listen but they are able to master totally what they see to their mind. İt can be said that a child who never saw the sea, may possibly think pond or dam as the sea and she/he can understand more what the sea is if she/he sees the picture of it. İn terms of using photographs and pictures as teaching materials, one can say that learning can be transferred from abstract to concrete. İn this research experimental and control groups has been formed and in order to determine pupils’ academic achievement levels the same test was used before and after the study. According to findings of this study it is understood that the use of photographs and pictures in geography courses affects academic achievement levels of pupils positively.
