摘要：Este artigo se propõe a refletir o princípio educativo do trabalho ao longo das experiências de Educação do Campo. Nesta trajetória foi possível verificar a centralidade do trabalho na ontologia do ser social e no metabolismo sociedade-natureza, a conexão entre educação e trabalho e os conceitos e categorias do trabalho como princípio educativo. Pode-se sintetizar que o trabalho como princípio educativo apreendido nas experiências de Educação do Campo se identifica com um importante conceito de Educação Ambiental, a práxis, isto é, a ação e reflexão transformadora, com intuito de construir uma compreensão complexa e crítica da realidade socioambiental em que os grupos sociais estão envolvidos. Labour as an environ-mental education principle This article aims to reflect the educational principle of labour throughout the Rural Education experiences. In this trajectory it was possible to verify the centrality of labour in the ontology of the social being and in the metabolism of society-nature, the connection between education and labour and also the concepts and categories of labour as an educational principle. It can be summarized that labour as an educational principle apprehended in the Rural Education experiences is identified with an important concept of Environmental Education, the praxis, that is, transformable action and reflection, in order to build a complex and critical comprehension of the socio-environmental reality in which social groups are involved.
