标题:Educação como prática democrática versus monitoramento da qualidade da educação em Minas Gerais / Education as a democratic practice versus monitoring the quality of education in Minas Gerais
摘要:The article is part of a doctoral thesis in which the policy of monitoring the quality of education in Minas Gerais was analyzed, with reference to the discussion of the nature of educative work in the scope of the political economy applied to education. Differently from the thesis, in which all the data are analyzed together, this text discusses a specific question emerging in the subjects' speeches: the relationship between external evaluations and education understood as a practice that needs to be democratic. Based on a qualitative research using interviews of fifteen education professionals, it is shown that, although professionals consider the external evaluation necessary and important, excerpts from their statements reveal policy impositions and highlight failures that may be associated with denial of the condition of subjects of those who carry out the educational process in the school, the students and even the external community.
