摘要：Durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, Japón emprendió en el este de Asia un proyecto imperialista que transformó a la región en muchos sentidos. Por medio de un análisis histórico y comparativo se describen las actividades económicas de los japoneses en ese periodo, las cuales están orientadas no sólo a la mera extracción de recursos, sino también a la construcción de infraestructura, la formación de personal técnico y la creación de instituciones y vínculos internacionales duraderos. Se muestra también cómo todo esto fue aprovechado después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial como motor de la industria de la región y de casos de un crecimiento económico que emuló el “milagro japonés”.
其他摘要：During the first half of the 20th century, Japan launched an imperialist project in East Asia that transformed the region in many ways. By means of a historical and comparative analysis, this paper describes the economic activities of the Japanese in that period, directed not only to the mere extraction of resources, but also to the construction of infrastructure, the training of technical personnel and the creation of institutions and long-lasting international links. It also shows how all this was used favorably as a driving force in the industry of the region, and even in cases of economic growth that emulated the “Japanese miracle” after the Second World War.
