摘要:Economic entities typically hold part of their assets in cash, and determining how much of the assets should be held in cash is one of the important decisions taken by business unit management. Despite the fact that in accounting literature, the identification of determinants of the level of cash holdings in companies has been extensively investigated; however, the impact of product market competition on the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate cash holdings is largely unknown. For this reason, in this research, we examined this relationship; by examining 84 companies among the companies listed in the Tehran Stock Exchange during the years 1389-1395, using the combined regression model test we concluded that competition in the product market and social responsibility had a negative and significant effect on the level of cash holdings. In addition, the research results indicate that competition in the product market has a negative and significant effect on the relationship between social responsibility and the level of cash holdings.
