  • 摘要:Nowadays, women, consisting half of the society population, have a strategic role in sustainable development. Investing in empowering this class of the soceity is an investment in sustainable development. Accordingly, the main purpose of the present study is to investigate the factors affecting the empowerment of married women in East Azarbaijan province. The research method was a survey and the data collection tool was a questionnaire. According to the last census (2016), the statistical population of the study included 1203062 married women in East Azarbaijan province from whom 1134 persons were selected as the sample of study using Cochran formula. In this study, multi-stage cluster sampling method was used.Overall, the findings of the study showed that 1. The psychological empowerment of married women in East Azarbaijan province is above average (75.15%). 2. Based on the results of the path analysis, the direct, indirect, and total effects of economic, social, cultural, and psychological capital on women's empowerment were significant and could explain 66% of the variance of the dependent variable (women empowerment). Comparing the beta coefficients, it can be said that women's empowerment is mostly affected by the variable of psychological capital (0.68).
