摘要：La crónica latinoamericana actual goza en el presente escenario de gran vitalidad, con sus exponentes destacados, respetuosos de la tradición y de sus maestros. Una nueva generación autodenominada “Nuevos cronistas de Indias” ha creado y fortalecido su propio circuito que se extiende a través de instituciones que imparten docencia y formación a jóvenes periodistas, de concursos y de festivales, así como también de publicaciones especializadas. El objetivo de este trabajo es explorar el lugar que ocupa este género en la sociedad latinoamericana, y, en particular, el rol del cronista, quien propone un encuentro con el otro. Es a través de la empatía, elemento clave del género, el modo en el que se construyen estos textos que pertenecen a un género autónomo y polifónico. Existe empatía en el cronista hacia las voces que recoge, y también, desde la recepción, en la capacidad y potencial de identificación que se suscita en el lector y que contribuye así al fomento de una sociedad más plural y tolerante.
其他摘要：The current Latin American chronicle enjoys great vitality in the present scenario, with its prominent exponents, respectful of its tradition and teachers. A new generation, self designated “New Chroniclers of the Indies” has created and strengthened its own circuit that extends through institutions that teach young journalists, also through contests and festivals, as well as it has its own specialized publications. The objective of this study is to explore the place of this genre in Latin American society, and, in particular, the role of the chronicler, who proposes an encounter with the other. It is through empathy, a key element of the genre, the way in which these texts that belong to an autonomous and polyphonic genre are constructed. There is empathy in the chronicler towards the voices that the author gathers, and also, from the reception, in the capacity or potential identification that is aroused in the reader and that contributes to the promotion of a more plural and tolerant society.
