摘要：Os resultados da pesquisa sobre o artesanato no Vale Sanfranciscano já haviam apontado para cenários positivos. No trecho do Baixo São Francisco, onde foi realizada a V Expedição pelo grupo GPTURIS/UNIFACS constatou-se que a atividade é tradicionalmente executada, de forma diversificada, com excelente padrão e um nível de organização mais efetivo, contando com políticas públicas específicas, sobretudo no Estado de Alagoas. A crise que afeta a região, em decorrência do longo período de estiagem e baixa vazão do rio, tem impulsionado esse setor da economia regional como alternativa de geração de renda atrelado ao resgate de valores culturais.
其他摘要：The results of a previous research on the crafts in the Sanfranciscano Valley had already pointed out to positive scenarios. In the area of the Lower San Francisco, where we conducted the 5th Expedition with the GPTURIS/UNIFACS research group, it was found that the handcraft activity is traditionally performed, presented in a diversified way, with excellent standards and in a more effective organization level, counting on specific public policies, especially in the State of Alagoas. The crisis affecting the region, due to the long period of drought and the low flow of the river, has driven this sector of the regional economy to become an alternative for income generation coupled to the valorization of cultural heritage.
