摘要：Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir a relação entre desejo mimético e tradução. Ao refletirmos sobre o desejo, podemos admitir (embora raramente) que invejamos ou desejamos, na verdade, aquele ou aquela que possui o objeto de nosso desejo e, que na verdade este último tem muito pouca importância. Em alguns casos, diríamos que ficaríamos mais satisfeitos ou teríamos mais prazer se o Outro não possuísse o objeto e, que no fundo preferíamos nós mesmo possuí-lo. Esse mecanismo é muito comumente usado em publicidade. Se pararmos para pensar, percebemos a tendência do ser humano de imitar o Outro, aquele/a que possui o produto ou objeto e, que nos parece completamente satisfeito/a por tê-lo ou por poder adquiri-lo. Partindo do pressuposto de que o ser humano pode fixar seu desejo em objetos relacionados com suas necessidades, angústias, faltas, etc., pode o tradutor ao executar sua tarefa ser levado pelo mecanismo do desejo?
其他摘要：This article posits an association of mimetic desire and translation. Reflecting on our desires we admit - albeit rarely - that we are jealous or we envy those who possess the object of our desire and that, in fact, the latter is not particularly important. In some cases, we might claim that we would derive greater satisfaction or pleasure if the Other did not possess the object and yet, deep inside, we would rather possess it ourselves. This mechanism is commonly used in advertising. If we stop to think, we realize that human beings tend to imitate the Other, the one who possesses the product or object, and who seems to be thoroughly satisfied purchasing it. Based on the assumption that the human beings can fix their desires on objects relating to their needs, anxieties, wants, etc., can the translator perform his/her task driven by the mechanism of desire?
