摘要：Psychological abuse is characterized by the degradation and control of the partner, disrespecting him. The objective was to gather evidence of validity of the scale of psychological abuse in the partner (EAP-P) in brazilian women. In study 1, 303 women participated and an exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency were performed. The findings corroborated a two-factor structure: direct PA strategiesandindirect PA strategies, with alphas equal to 0.92 and 0.89, respectively. In study 2, 380 women participated, performing a confirmatory analysis and evaluating the parameters of the items using the item response theory (IRT).The results showed better indices in the bifactor model, besides good indexes of composite reliability (0.90) and mean variance extracted (0.51 and 0.50) and through TRI, it was obtained that the items conform to the standard of response.
