摘要:National spatial data infrastructure is one part of e-government initiative. Today more than a hundred countries in the world have or are already implementing their own spatial data infrastructure. In 2015, Uzbekistan adopted a law about electronic governance. Most recently, the parliament of the country considers a law to support the establishment of this NSDI. The government recognizes an urgent need to improve its interaction with citizens and the private sector and tries to modernize its management system and make access to information open to all. In this article, we considered current situation of NSDI implementation state assessed Uzbekistan’s readiness for NSDI according to five general factors and fourteen decision criteria’s. Moreover, we elaborately uncovered challenges that the country faces, as well as plausible benefits (economic, social, and ecological) that the government and citizens will gain from NSDI and e-government development. We consider that future of NSDI in Uzbekistan has many prospects, but country should focus on current disadvantages (such as weak ICT infrastructure, low SDI culture, frail human capacity etc.), and involve a wide range of stakeholders in the future for NSDI development.
