摘要：Studies on epiphytic diatoms on seaweed represented by Zostera or marine algae began in Takano, Nabumo, and J. Tanaka’s pioneering researches but the number of articles was very limited until 2000. Only recently articles about diatoms on Plocamium, Avrainvillea, Focus, Laminariaceae, or Undaria were recently published and research presentations are gradually increasing. However further investigations still needs to be done because there are great many kind of algae, floras on them, and seasonal variations. In this paper we presented a survey result about epiphytic diatoms on Codium fragile (Suringar) Hariot from Sakushima Island in Mikawa Bay. We distinguish particularly 57 taxa on it this time and list generic or species names we could be confirmed up to the present. The most common species we found is Cocconeis stauroneiformis (W. Smith) Okuno. Apart from that Cocconeis pseudomarginata, C. scutellum, Arachnoidiscus ehrenbergii, Licomophora californica, Achnanthes brevipes also appear at hight frequency.
