摘要：The beaches are highly dynamic and sensitive environmental systems that undergo transformations at various spatial and temporal scales due to factors related to natural dynamics and others related to anthropic interventions in the coastal zone. On the Balbino beach, located in the municipality of Cascavel, on the east coast of the State of Ceará, coastal erosion has intensified in recent years, reducing the beach strip, destroying tents and other coastal structures, generating social and environmental damage. This work aimed to characterize the erosive and depositional processes in the area. Bimonthly topographic profiles were carried out from September / 2016 to September / 2017; sediment collection in the post-beach, styranium and pre-shore sectors and acquisition of hydrodynamic data. In the laboratory, the granulometric analysis of the sediments. The more intense performance of the winds in the months of September / 2016 and September / 2017, contributed to the higher records of significant height, energy and speed of the wave group, in addition to the greater volumes of sediments transported. The profiles P1, P3 and P4 showed a negative sedimentary balance, in the other profiles (P2, P5, P6 AND P7) the balance was positive. The sedimentary characteristics indicate a beach composed predominantly of medium sand, from moderate to well selected, mesocurtic and approximately symmetrical. The coastal erosion observed in the area is related to coastal dynamics, mainly to periods of more intense winds and tides of greater amplitude, the impact is more significant where there are occupations in sectors of sedimentary crossing as in the strip of beach and frontal dunes.
