摘要:Active ageing policies, together with health-related technological advances and improving living conditions have led to increased life expectancy for the EU’s elderly population. Furthermore, there is a great deal of variation in the way that healthcare services are provided and funded across the Member States. An ageing population is expected to result in additional demands for a range of health and health-related products and services. With no change in the overall health status of the EU population and without any future reform of social security systems and labour markets to promote healthy and active ageing, demographic developments will likely result in increased pressure on public budgets for health and long-term care. In the case of Romania,"The 2008-2010 multi-annual national statistics program" includes nothing about healthcare satellite accounts or indicators for ageing population.
