摘要：Many DBMS producers have expanded the support for SQL by adding instructions to that particular language. The role of these extensions is to provide additional functionalities and simplified methods to perform certain operations. Although they are often very useful,these extensions have the tendency to be specific to a particular DBMS and are rarely supported by many producers. The standard SQL is controlled by the ANSI standardization committee,which is thus known as ANSI SQL. All important databases management systems,even those who use their own extensions,support ANSI SQL. In most cases,the SQL,which is submitted as an annex to the Microsoft Access DBMS,is ANSI SQL and applies to any database management system.
