摘要：This paper aims to present the main factors that influence motivation in academic research: extrinsic/ intrinsic factors,motivator/ demotivator factors,personal/ interpersonal/ social factors,individual/ collective factors. Also brought into the discussion and the main theories related to motivation in academic research: self efficacy,self-concept and self-determination theory. As a conclusion it is emphasized the link between motivation and productivity and the need to increase the motivation in order to improve a country's international visibility.
