摘要:Leadership is commonly known to determine the success or failure of an organization. This study examines the relationship between characteristics which define a leader and the performance of knowledge-based organizations. Current theories of leadership suggest that certain types of individuals are especially likely to succeed as leaders in certain organizations. As knowledge and information become the new sources of power in today's dynamic markets, organizations must cultivate a new form of entrepreneurial leader that can maximize companies’ resources and opportunities. The leader must lend his vision, leadership style, strategy and imprint his personal set of skills to improve performance in the organizations. The results shape the profile of a successful leader, especially in knowledge-based organizations, and particularly in business environment.
