摘要:Purpose - The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not the use of YouTube videos as media affects the non-English department students’ pronunciation skills. Design/methodology/approach - This study used quantitative - experimental method with the pretest-posttest control group design. In collecting data, researchers used tests and observations as instruments. The data obtained were analyzed using a hypothetical test using a t-test. The researchers used a program computer facility called SPSS for Windows Release version 22 for the entire data computing process. Findings - Students, applied direct pronunciation learning strategies (PLS) by imitating, practising, and saying aloud the words pronounced by YouTubers on their YouTube channel. The results showed that the use of YouTube videos as the media positively affected students’ pronunciation skills. In other words, YouTube can be one of the influential English pronunciation learning media for non-English department students. Originality/value - Coherence and cohesion are parts of academic writing that should be mastered by students in order to create a good thesis. Specifically for the students who will graduate from Higher Education.
