摘要：This article is of aspects of theoretical. It puts forward a suggestion for distinguishing natural,cultural and anthropogenic landscapes and,additionally,dividing them into types. The author discusses main directions of research of cultural landscapes,at the same time mentioning research approaches. Based on that,an attempt is made to define sacred and religious landscapes,and the author discusses possible studies of sacred and religious landscapes according to the mentioned research directions. The paper presents the position of sacred landscape and religious landscape in the typology of cultural landscapes,and deals with main characteristics and differences between the two types of landscape. Thus,a critical approach was presented to the definition and synonymous comprehension of the notions of religious landscape and sacred landscape,which are common in Polish reference books on religious geography. The paper presumes evolutionary development of cultural landscapes and reports their early origins. Sacred landscapes are primary to religious landscapes and may transform into religious landscapes.
