摘要：The aim of the work is to present possibilities of development of soundscape tourism within closed quarries. There are four quarries of carbonate resources,situated in świętokrzysko-lubelski region,singled out as examples of the objects that are interesting in the aspect of that type of tourism. These are:"Kadzielnia” in Kielce (The Świętokrzyskie Mountains),Kazimierz Dolny and Nasiłów (The Lesser Poland Gorge of the Middle Vistula) and Wierzbica (Iłża Foreland). They are distinguished by different landscape context. Additionally,two more examples of the closed quarries are depicted:"Organy Wielisławskie” in Wielisław Złotoryjski (Kaczawa Foothills) and another one on the St. Anne Mountain (Chełm Mountain Ridge – Silesian Upland). Non-functioning quarries possess great potential for development of sound tourism,but it is not utilized sufficiently. Taking into consideration adapting quarries for purposes of soundscape tourism,there should be set some primary goals:outlining tracks of soundwalks,building amphitheatres and interactive museums as well as organizing musical concerts. Sound values ought to be bound up with scenic values,so planning and preparing beauty spots (providing extensive view) have also great significance.
