摘要:In this work, the joining of CuZn30 alloy sheets was carried out using by both the friction stir and the electrical arc welding techniques. It was employed different tool rotational speeds with a constant travel speed for friction stir welding (FSW) in order to investigate the effects on the joint performance. The mechanical properties of CuZn30 alloys welded by electrical arc were compared to the properties of CuZn30 alloys welded by FSW. The results show that the mechanical properties of CuZn30 welded by FSW were higher than welded by electrical arc process due to the zinc fume in welds which are likely to be porous. It was not observed zinc fume in FSW weld. It was suggested that it should be preferred the friction stir welding technique for series production and the electrical arc welding for repair of CuZn30.
