摘要:This study is about to design a simple and low-cost deformation bracelet. The main aim of the study is using the deformation bracelet instead of the crash-box for the low-velocity crashes. The investigated problem is trying to absorb the energy that occurs when a front crash of a B-segment car (~1000 kg) with 15 km/h velocity by radial plastic strain of the bracelet. One of the design parameters is that the force which is necessary for the plastic strain of the bracelet should be lower than the strength of the frame. On the other hand, the 4340 J energy of crash must be absorbed during the plastic strain of the bracelet. That has been observed with the results of analysis and the experimental studies, the width of the bracelet is effective too beside the conical degree on the force that applied during tests. In addition to large deformations, mechanical properties (yield, tensile stresses) of the bracelet material become important for not to be damaged. At the end, it has been understood that the deformation energy can be maximized by changing the geometrical size and the mechanical properties of the deformation bracelet.
