摘要:Rapid population growth and improvement in quality of life as a result of industrialization led to increase in the number of vehicles in big cities day by day. In addition to air pollution originating from households and industrial facilities, air pollution from traffic also causes serious environmental problems. Therefore, determination of air pollutants from motor vehicles is crucial because of their adverse effects to the environment, particularly to human health. Within the scope of this study, hourly traffic densities were identified for different vehicle types by carrying out vehicle counts on highways that surround Sapanca Lake. Using CORINAIR emission factors, an emission inventory was conducted for air pollutants originating from traffic (PM, NOx. CO, VOC) and their impact on Sapanca lake, which is an important water supply for the Marmara region, was evaluated. Based on the study, the total amount of emissions released to the atmosphere throughout a week, was determined 2 ton, 41 ton, 84 ton and 14 ton for PM, NOx, CO, and VOC, respectively. When long-term results were evaluated, it was deduced that motor vehicles are an important source of pollution for Sapanca Lake and its influent streams, and that measures have to be taken.
