摘要:The treatment of wastewaters contaminated with dye from the widespread use of dyestuff is an important environmental issue. Smoking is also a harmful habit that many people have nowadays. This study aimed to investigate the Remazol Brillant Blue R (RBBR) adsorb ability of the cigarette ash to gain a use area for waste ash generated during smoking and to introduce a new, alternative and low cost adsorbent in the removal of dyestuff by adsorption method. For this purpose, the conditions of RBBR adsorption on the cigarette ash, which is a costless adsorbent, were investigated according to pH, initial dyestuff concentration, contact time and adsorbent dose and maximum adsorption capacity was determined as 178,57 mg/g. In addition, the suitability of experimental data with isotherm and kinetic models was analyzed and the parameters of these models were calculated. Adsorption of RBBR dye with cigarette ash has been shown to be better expressed by Langmuir isotherm.
