摘要:Digital technologies have produced changes in all printing industry phases, the most significant changes being due to moving the design and digital prepress activities from prepress service offices to offset printing offices and their changing into product shops and printing services. Nowadays, digital technologies provide its customers a large variety of printing services and products. Digitizing has produced significant changes in printing production, which, with the prepress changes, have lead to an industry as has never been before. At this level, printing offers a technological paradox: on one hand, the requirement of the printing products is increasing, while the technology is improving and the skillfulness of using new technologies is being distributed to the society. On the other hand, this diffusion creates sources of competition in printing industry. Digital technologies have provided a large market and have determined a close relation between industry and consumers. Printing and publishing industry must absorb the changes and use them to create new types of products, new market and job opportunities.
