摘要：The macroeconomic performance can be measured in different ways. I measured the Romania's macroeconomic performance using three indexes: The Povertry Index (calculated as sum of unemployment rate and inflation rate), The Impopularity Index (calculated as inflation rate plus 9 x unemployment rate) and The Stabilization Policy Index (calculated as sum of inflation rate plus 3 x unemplyment rate). During the period 1996 - 2002 all these performance indexes had the same trends. After 1998 we can notice a visible improvement of Romanian economy. But, if we compare the Romania 's macroeconomic performance with that of European Union- 15, we see very easily huge discrepancies一for ex ample, the Romania's povertry index is in average 5.13 bigger than the European Union一15's povertry index in the analised period. Of course, the discrepancies can be outlined also through the traditional method - comparing the GDP/ inhab. at PPC.
