摘要：One of the most important characteristics of international banking is transnationalization which, under the financial globalization conditions, has become a worldwide phenomenon. Nowadays, as home country, host country or both, most of the countries of the world have been included in this global circuit. Therefore, transnational banks are important actors of financial globalization. Started after the Second World War by United States’ banks and continued since the 1970s by the banks from other continents, the banking transnationalization process has been enhanced and generalised. The proof is given by several indicators such as the capital invested abroad, off-shore assets, the number of employees of the foreign subsidiaries and branches.
