摘要:The attitude of loving culture is one of the nation’s character values that should be highly upheld in the school curriculum. In order to implant the character of loving culture to the students, the teaching and learning of Indonesian based on texts gives teachers more space to creativity. Teachers are demanded to have a good plan on teaching methods, ability to develop teaching materials, and an appropriate evaluation plan. The evaluation plan is an authentic evaluation in the form of performance evaluation. It needs special considerations: (1) the student’s performance shows a particular competence; (2) accuracy and completeness of performance aspects to be assessed; (3) particular abilities the student needs in order to complete the learning tasks; (4) essential indicators to be observed; and (5) the sequence of skills to be observed. This performance evaluation model for junior high school students can be implemented through three main stages: pre-reading stage, reading stage, and post-reading stage.
