摘要:The book deals with the behaviour of an airplane in flight and it is focused on fixed-wing airplanes. Airplane is considered as a rigid body with movable surfaces designed to control it. The book is divided into eight chapters in which flight dynamics are analysed step by step, in both vertical and horizontal planes, as well as in general spatial motion. In chapter 1, equations of motion are derived for the case when an airplane is moving in the vertical plane, and a brief reminder of necessary aerodynamics is presented. The usage of time-scales in the motion equations provides an idea of the order of magnitude of the individual factors and facilitates the interpretation. Chapter 2 discusses the principle of stability of longitudinal motion in accordance with linear systems of the first and second order in modelling small aerodynamics disturbances. The authors use this graphic approach in subsequent chapters. In chapters 3–5 the required formulas are successively derived, and problems of longitudinal balance and stability, longitudinal control and long-period dynamics are discussed. The explanations are supplemented by derivation of formulas for aerodynamic derivatives. Similarly, in chapters 6 and 7, the dynamics of lateral motion are discussed. There, equations of motion for small disturbances are gradually derived, including the necessary lateral aerodynamic derivatives and types of lateral movement.
