摘要：The ability to reach a sustainable economic growth of countries initially depends on the usage of energy resources efficiently. But an unequal distribution of energy resources in the world increases the dependency on energy in countries which have insufficient energy resources such as Turkey. Therefore, it has a great importance to analyze the share of imported energy resources for economic growth. The correlation between energy consumption and changes in gross domestic product, increases the importance of energy policies while determining the economical policies of countries. In this study, the causality relationship between energy consumption, energy generation and GDP in Turkey are examined using annual data for the period 1960-2009. Johansen cointegration test and Granger causality test is used for this study. Empirical results for the period under discussion there is a relationship between the variables based on long-term Johansen Cointegration test. Also it showed that bileteral causality with the energy consumption to GDP.
