摘要：In this study, poverty is calculated for various socioeconomic classes in Mersin and Erzurum provinces by using multidimensional poverty approach and then the findings are analyzed comparatively. While the multidimensional poverty measurement methodology is drawn on as a calculation of poverty (Alkire and Foster, 2007;2011a), the definition of socioeconomic classes are based on theoretical assumptions used in Köse, Pınar, and Bahçe (2009) and Günaydın (2011). The results of this analysis show that the class with the highest poverty rate under all poverty lines is the petty bourgeois. The second class with the higher rates is working classes. When the poverty of the qualified working class is added, working class actually represents the poorest class.
