摘要:Mentorial work is actually the main advantage of our school: it is about individual work with candidates. Formerly we called it seminar, then studio, seminar again and now we call it design and composition. In the first years it is mainly a collective task, later a more individual task, while on the postgraduate level it is solely individual work, likewise on the doctorial and post-doctorial level. In the coursework of the subject Architectural elements, our young colleague Srdjan Nadj,a student of a higher year, independently devised the task Composition of the square. Students used their newly gained knowledge on relations and integrated them in a graphic representation on two-dimensional design possibilities. Here I have to stress that in the first year graduate coursework at our school it is possible only to lecture, since the mass of enrolled students seriously hinders individual work with students. Exceptional efforts of associates can however alleviate the problem. As a junior researcher our colleague dr. Domen Zupančič formalised the work of first year students as individual work in smaller groups, which he led from theory to practise by data gathering, processing data by source, discovering Slovene cultural heritage in the field of vernacular architecture, field surveying, technical drawing, analyses and printed, computerised and live presentations. Some of these student’s presentations were real happenings, where our young colleagues showed their difficulties, successes, stories and misfortunes, technical data and documented representations of our heritage. Thorough these tasks they raised their cultural level and that of others, but above all the level of our own,Slovene heritag.
