摘要:The article presents ecotourism as a concept that provides an opportunity to preserve the authenticity of a particular tourist destination and enables a dynamic balance of cultural spatial development. The main emphasis is on the alpine river system as a core factor in tourism development. The model is applied to the Upper Soča Valley, one of the most attractive and genuine Slovenian alpine destinations. However, from the perspective of the ecosystem, social environment and architectural heritage,it is an alpine area of great vulnerability. In the paper,we present basic tourism indicators, as well as related traffic and recreational statistics, which indicate the oscillating congestion of visitors, their vehicles and river activity. The development of such trends presents a threat to the fragile socio-economic structure of the Upper Soča Valley. Moreover, insufficient control of tourismrelated interventions in space has negative effects, especially in sensitive environments characterized by less vital management structures, lack of knowledge and the fragmentation of various social groups. In this context, the article deals with the questions: how can the authenticity and particularity of a specific space become an opportunity for ecotourism development,long-term stability and perspectives in this area? Who are the actors, and how they (can) mutually cooperate and participate in a decision-making process on a local and regional scale?.
